1 – Open Windows Live Mail.

2 – Click on Accounts tab.

3 – Next, click Email button under Accounts tab.

4 – A new pop-up prompting you to add your Windows Live Mail email account will appear on the screen.

5 – Fill out the required fields with your Microsoft account email address, password and display name.

6 – Now check the Manually configure server settings option and hit NEXT.

7 – You will see options for Configure server settings in the next prompt. Here enter the settings as listed below. You can choose to enter either POP3 or IMAP settings mentioned below:

IMAP Protocol Settings

Incoming server information

Server Type: IMAP

Server Address: imap-Mail.Outlook.com (Port: 993)

Logon User Name: Windows Live account ID or any other Microsoft email ID that you are using

Outgoing server information

Server Address: smtp-mail.outlook.com (port 25)

Requires a secure connection SSL (Yes/Check)

Requires Authentication (Yes/Check)

8 – After entering above details in required fields, hit the NEXT button to add your email account with POP3 or IMAP protocol.

9 – All done.
