There is no in-built Cortana feature that allows users to Shut Down Windows 10 using Cortana voice command. Following step-by-step guide below to shut down PC Windows with Cortana command.
How to Shut Down Windows 10 using Cortana Voice Command:
1- Open Windows Explorer, click the folder icon on the taskbar.
2- In Windows Explorer window go to c:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
3- On an empty space in the right window pane right-click and select new > shortcut from drop-down menu.
4- Create Shortcut windows will open. In the field under ‘Type the location of the item:’ type showdown.exe -s and hit the next button.
Note: In the command you just typed -s means that Windows will shutdown immediately when you give Cortana voice command. To delay the shutdown process, replace -s with lets say -t10 which will shutdown PC after the interval of ten seconds. You can enter any value in stead of 10 in the example.
For example, to shutdown Windows after 30 seconds of Cortana voice command enter type this: shutdown.exe -s -t30
5 – In the next window, keep the shortcut name as shutdown or change it to whatever you like when asked ‘what would you like to name the shortcut?’.
6 – Next hit the finish button.
Now open Cortana by clicking microphone icon in the search box on the taskbar and say ‘Hey Cortana’ followed by ‘Open shutdown’. This will shutdown Windows 10 PC/laptop via Cortana voice command.
Restart Windows 10 with Cortana Voice Command:
Follow steps 1-3 above. In the step 4 above, type shutdown.exe -r -t 00 (oo for immediate restart or type any number like 10 for restarting after 10 seconds) and click next. Name the shortcut such as Restart and hit the Finish button. Now Open Cortana as describe above and say ‘Hey Cortana Open Restart’.
